During this activity we explored the technical aspects of recycling, we also examined how recycling practices can be shaped and improved through an inclusive and gender-sensitive approach.
Gender differences can influence participation and access to recycling, as well as the distribution of roles and responsibilities in community recycling initiatives.
We reflect on the importance of recognising and addressing these disparities to promote equitable participation of all genders in waste management and environmental conservation.
The power of inclusive language makes recycling more accessible and welcoming to all people, regardless of their gender identity, thus creating a more welcoming and respectful environment.
